Artspace owner, Claire Fried, is delighted to be open and welcome artists and art lovers back to her beautiful gallery.

The gallery opened its doors to the public on 12th April as did most of the shops in the Thoroughfare. It felt so good to hear chatting and laughter again in the street. It felt so good to see friendly faces enjoying the day.

The gallery is light and airy with big windows onto the street. Artists and art lovers were enjoying the space again albeit with masks.

The Suffolk Group set up last week with ‘Small Works’ and have had a successful week selling prints, sculpture and paintings

Artists have been waiting a long time to get into Artspace to show and sell their artwork. Due to the three lockdowns, some have been waiting over a year.

Now we are open, the artists can show their work again and we are all looking forward to the 12Printmakers starting on today (22nd April) for one week.

After ‘rolling over’ from this time last year the 12Printmakers will finally be showing their linocuts, etchings, mono prints and silkscreens that seem to portray the magic of Nature and the incredible world we live in.

12Printmakers is an established group of printmakers first formed in 1984. The aim of the group is to produce high quality handmade images using a full range of recognised print making techniques both in limited editions as well as one-off unique images.

The group is based in East Anglia, centred along the Essex/Suffolk border with close links to Gainsborough’s House Print Workshop in Sudbury and the Colchester based print studio at Cuckoo Farm. All the prints are conceived and carried out by the artist working directly on the block, plate or screen from which the print is made.

The artists have exhibited widely in East Anglia and London with their work held in collections in both the UK and abroad.

12Printmakers are:

Sally Burch, Sally Freer, Mel King, Terry Kubecki, Kit Leese, Lucy Perry, Anthony Searle, David Stone, Julia Vezza, Bryan Whiteley,  Alan Woods.

With all works available for sale the artists are looking forward to welcoming you!

Thursday 22nd April – Wednesday 28th April 2021.     10:00 am – 5:00 pm daily.

Artspace can be found at Apothecary House, 64, Thoroughfare, Woodbridge IP12 1AL
