There’s a treat in store for all opera lovers as Gilbert & Sullivan’s comic masterpiece, The Mikado, heads to Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall for two exclusive performances on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th October.
On behalf of Jubilee Hall, trustee Emma Lloyd says: “The performances are particularly special as we welcome the Charles Court Opera and National Festival Orchestra to Jubilee Hall. We are also delighted to announce that both productions are sponsored by Churchgates, Bury St Edmunds’ based multidisciplinary accountants.”
The production is directed by John Savournin, whose recent productions include Trial by Jury for Opera North and The Pirates of Penzance, in collaboration with Opera Holland Park.
Emma adds: “For all fans of musical theatre this unmissable production brings a message of hope and recovery for the performing arts industry and we are delighted to bring such eminence to Aldeburgh. For those keen to give opera a try The Mikado makes a wonderful, accessible introduction to this genre.”
